Ferreira do Zêzere
Is a historical town in Central Portugal dating back to the 13th century and is in the district of Santarém, the population is a little over 8,000, it is a municipal town constructed of 7 parishes:
- Águas Belas
- Areias e Pias
- Beco
- Chãos
- Ferreira do Zêzere
- Igreja Nova do Sobral
- Nossa Senhora do Pranto
The town is a short drive away from the river Zêzere and the blue lagoon (Lago Azul) which forms a part of the river, the historical city of Tomar is also a 15 minute drive away.
A similar distance away is Dornes a medieval town that has recently been joined with another parish Paio Mendes and is now known as Nossa Senhora do Pranto.
Dornes is famous for its Templar tower and church, its views over the river are just stunning.
